On March 27, Bill 42, An Act to Prevent and Combat Psychological Harassment and Sexual Violence in the Workplace, was passed into law.
Various amendments to the law require employers to adapt. Employers are obliged to modify their policies and practices in the management of such cases, failing which they will be subject to recourse or fines, as the case may be.
The law now specifies the elements that employers must include in their policies for preventing and dealing with situations of psychological harassment.
In particular, employers must include information and training programs on the prevention of psychological harassment for employees, as well as for persons designated by the employer to handle a complaint or report;
